this pod is for the substack legends only <3 <3 <3 thanks for being here icons!!!!
welcome to ‘that’s class’ - fair play’s substack-exclusive chat - where we dive into england’s weird posh obsession - as two people who aren’t. today we’re discussing how state schools diminish artistic outlets (and how this does not set you up for life), the BTEC stigma, and the convenience economy - honestly, because i’ll slag that off at any given opportunity.
yeah yeah that’s great but who am i listening to? ynes here, founder of fair play. nicole also here, my best friend (why does that sound like i’m 12) who quit the fashion industry to go freelance and live in a van with her dog. we met in coventry when i was living at home and nicole was studying at coventry uni and also living round the corner from me. we have collaborated on a multitude of projects all of which were done in the most DIY form possible with a literal camera and a dream, we have also had an immeasurable amount of drunken nights at the colly/campbell and if you read this and you know us then you maybe should be scared. kidding. unless you’re the person who saw our joint love heart graffiti in the campbell toilets and crossed out MY NAME. but if you are, you probably aren’t reading this sooooooo instead i’ll say….
good to have ya here <3
think of us as your friends who will big you up no matter how petty your gripe is. you’re telling us your ex (who has rich parents that pay his rent) used to complain about being broke?? SAY MORE. you’re telling us someone imitated your accent back at you and thought it was funny??? GIVE US THE DETAILS. thanks for being here. let's go girls.
